Contaminants aren't limited to spring conditions when dirt from the ground can get mixed in, it can come from air pollution (live close to a coal-fired manufacturing or electricity generating plant?), it can also come from things such as tree pollen.
If fast skis are fun and you like applying glide wax to have more fun, it can be critical to clean the glide zones on the ski before adding glide wax.
Rex Sisu glide cleaner is one of the most popular of the glide zone cleaners. This is not just because it does a great job of cleaning the contaminants out of the ski base, this also leaves a layer of glide wax that is the base for Rex Sisu white glide wax. This layer creates a very durable glide wax layer to support the glide wax to be applied next.
Take note that the remaining glide wax layer can be a very good glide wax on its own if the snow is very old dirty snow, especially man-made snow.
Apply, let dry, and then brush off.
