If getting into using hand structure tools is intimidating, we suggest to start here.
The Holmenkol structure tool has been around a long time and is still used by many techs.
While Holmenkol does make a number of different rollers available this standard tool comes with two reliable cross structure bits. These create a cross pattern that is a safe bet in warm and wet snow (especially “Zero” conditions).
The rollers included have a right twist and a left twist. Of note is that when only one roller is used the resulting simple cross linear pattern is a safe option in colder conditions. When used in this fashion it is similar to the oft mentioned but out of production Finite CP17.
