It is difficult to not go overboard with our enthusiasm for this skate ski.
When selected appropriately, a case can be made that no other skate ski model has the performance spectrum this can cover. Competitive in nearly any condition; where many brands offer several condition specific ski models, a single pair of 610 Speedmax Plus can run well against most of them.
The Plus uses Fischer’s 28 base material. Optimum in conditions 14°F (-10°C) and warmer, it remains strong in old, wet dirty snow against competition that resorts to using clear bases that are specific to that situation. Even in very cold conditions below the recommended range, when prepared by hot waxing with polar type glide waxes the 28 base can keep up reasonably well.
The HM AirCore construction is well known for durability and can maintain a camber response for years longer than you would think.
If you only have one pair of skate skis, it is easy to recommend this design.
