Fischer Speedmax 80 Skate Ski
The Speedmax 80 is the new name for the RCS level skis from Fischer.
LCN stocks both the 115 Plus and the 610 Cold models.
Sizes and flexes not listed. Email us for your needs and we will look for an appropriate match.
We think the Fischer Speedmax 80 (nee RCS) skate skis are some of the most remarkable values available. The RCS was once Fischer’s World Cup level ski, and although superceded by the original Speedmax and now the Helium, since it’s debut Fischer has continued to refine the ski. It may seem a bold claim, but we think the quality control of Fischer’s race skis at this level equals the top of the line models from the other ski manufacturers.
115 Plus. This will have Fischer’s remarkable 28 base and their renowned P5-1 stone grind. Compared to the 610 camber, the 115 has a different pressure distribution that lengthens the effective “wheelbase” of the ski; this delivers greater stability, especially on hard snow. We highly recommend this ski for the recreational skate skier. The enhanced stability makes for more relaxed skiing, especially for those who are still on the learning curve, yet is fast enough to give a satisfactory performance for the occasional race. This ski has been very popular with our local adult skiers.
610 Cold. The 610 camber will be a better ski for the racer on a budget. The 610 has a fantastic performance range with competive speed in hard or soft conditions. The 31 Cold base could be a limiting factor in our typical maritime type damp snow, however, we feel that the ski design is paramount, and with the new 31 base the performance is no longer limited to very cold conditions. The C8-1 stone grind will “play well” with hand structure tools, and that combined with an appropriate glide wax the “Cold” ski can ski hot. This ski comes highly recommended for our local Junior skiers.
